Patchwork Petcare is based in Prestonpans and regularly serves the surrounding areas including Tranent, Musselburgh, Wallyford, Ormiston, Pencaitland, Haddington, Aberlady and Longniddry, though I am happy to consider bookings from those further afield.
All of my services are fully customised for you and your pet to encompass all of your needs; so visits can look very different for each of our clients.

New Client Consultations
Before I can start taking care of your pets, I will provide a free consultation for all new clients (and existing clients with a new addition to the family if required). This is a good opportunity for you and your pets to get to know me, to see if we are a good fit, and for me to better understand your pets’ routines, requirements and personalities.
Consultations take place in your own home, or on a local walk, and usually last for around 15 – 30 minutes, but can vary depending on number and type of pets. Dog walking consultations may last up to a full hour if required (we want to be sure we get a clear picture of your dog’s needs while out and about, not just at home!) I will also typically collect a set of keys during this consultation if we agree to proceed with registration.
121 Dog Walking
I exclusively offer one to one and same-household dog walks (up to four from the same home). This means that your dog sets the pace and gets my undivided attention, with walks that are fully customised to their needs. It also means less time (or no time!) in the car, and more time for fun! Our 121 walks are well suited to dogs who are:
- elderly or disabled, and need a slower pace or extra enrichment.
- puppies or rescues who are still working on their socialisation skills, and need some private down time.
- energetic and need a faster pace with lots of games.
- nervous, reactive, have health issues, working on behavioural issues, or otherwise not currently suited to group walks.
- currently in training and need focussed attention and assistance with their program.
But my dog walks are by no means limited to these categories! Dogs of all varieties are welcome (with the exception of XL Bullies only as these are not currently covered by my insurance).
121 dog walks are also perfect for pet parents who:
- work varied shifts and need flexible booking options.
- require multiple shorter visits throughout the day.
- have difficulty walking their dog themselves due to illness or injury.
- have multiple dogs, or a pet who is still getting settled, and require assistance. (Yes, we can buddy walk with you too!)
Pet Sitting
Our home visits vary greatly between households, as no two pets are the same. We welcome all kinds of requests, and aim to match your pet’s regular care as closely as possible, so that they can stay home with minimal disruption to their routine.
Some examples of the services provided include, but are not limited to:
- toilet breaks
- litter/enclosure cleaning
- feeding
- grooming
- vivarium checks and maintenance
- administering medication
- games, training and other enrichment
- and of course, lots of TLC!
Home & Plant Care
We take great care of your property and keep everything tidy as a standard, but we also offer a range of home and plant care services, both regularly and during holiday bookings. This can be anything from watering your baby cactus while you’re away, to a complete weekly house clean.
Additional services include:
- pet-safe cleaning
- bringing in your mail, parcels, milk, or other deliveries
- opening and closing curtains or blinds
- basic care of your garden and houseplants
- putting out your bins for collection day
- checking heating and security systems to ensure they’re working correctly
- keeping your home secure and appearing occupied

There is a £10 surcharge per visit for all bookings requested on the following days: December 24th, 25th & 26th, and January 1st & 2nd.
